What if… What if Dying Light scenes like Harran or Slums were real?

I believe Techland got a lot of inspirations from actual scenes they surveyed or probably they’ve discovered. A lot of settings there are close to real life areas! Just for instance, I was walking along the streets of Hongkou District in Shanghai. The area used to be an industrialized zone – old factories, repurposed establishments and some seemingly renovated dormitories for workers but now a fully residential area. It talks a lot about Shanghai’s past history in the modern and urbanized era. When it gets dark, the impression changes – just imagine that! With my Canon R7 and RFS 10-18, my imagination of this fun simulation of Dying Light scenes come to play.

The original shots have the Dying Light vibe already. Enhancing the colors on Lightroom makes it more intense and a bit game-to-life feel.

Also sharing my edits for those who might be interested in having fun with this simulation too!
Basically, for me, it’s more of exposure, mid-tone/clarity play. Adjusting the color curves as well to add yellow, green and blue balance. And finishing off with HSL and color grading to add the shades and tones that makes it a bit creepy and tense.

This is going to make the Volatile chase or hunt (depends on your game haha) more fun.
